ERASMUS’ DEATH: IGP Orders Fresh Investigation, Assures Justice
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered a fresh investigation into the controversial death of Erasmus Emhenya, a young man who allegedly died in police custody at the Nyanya Divisional Police Headquarters, FCT on April 10, 2023.
The IGP has expressed grave concern over the incident and directed the DIG FCID to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter. The police chief has called for calm and support from the public, assuring that the force will uphold and protect human rights in their daily activities.
The IGP has also commiserated with the family of the deceased and prayed for the repose of his soul.
