Crystal Palace pulled off a stunning upset on Saturday as they defeated Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, claiming the first major trophy in the club’s 120-year history.

The match-winning moment came in the 16th minute when Eberechi Eze calmly slotted home a cross from Daniel Muñoz, sending the Palace faithful into a frenzy. Despite Manchester City’s dominance in possession, they couldn’t find a way past a disciplined and determined Palace side.

City had a golden opportunity to level the score when Bernardo Silva was fouled in the box, earning them a penalty in the 36th minute. However, Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson produced a superb save to deny Omar Marmoush from the spot.

Henderson’s heroics continued throughout the game, with crucial saves keeping City at bay and preserving Palace’s slim lead.

Manager Oliver Glasner praised his team’s discipline and spirit, calling the victory a “monumental achievement” for the South London club. With the win, Palace also booked a place in next season’s UEFA Europa League.

For City, the defeat marks a disappointing end to the season, as they miss out on silverware for the first time in several years.

Crystal Palace’s unlikely triumph will go down as one of the most memorable moments in recent FA Cup history, a perfect underdog story capped with silverware.
