Fatal Auto Crash Claims Life of Pedestrian in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the tragic death of a 60-year-old pedestrian, David Rotimi, in an auto crash. The incident occurred at Ilara Area along Agbowa Road via Ogijo. Eyewitnesses reported that the accident occurred when the driver of a Lexus ES 350 car lost control of the vehicle, striking the pedestrian who was walking by the shoulder of the road. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Rotimi succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the General Hospital in Ikorodu, Lagos. The police have recovered the vehicle and are working to notify the victim’s family.
In response to this unfortunate incident, the Ogun State Police Command is urging motorists, motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians to exercise patience, reduce speed, and adhere to traffic rules to ensure safer roads in the state.
The police have emphasized the importance of following road regulations to prevent such tragic accidents. Efforts are underway to reach out to the family members of the deceased, and the victim’s body has been taken to Jas Private Morgue at Ita Oluwole Ogijo for preservation. The police will continue their investigation into the incident at the Ogijo Police Station.
