Federal Government Announces Public Holidays for Christmas and New Year

 

 

 

 

The Federal Government has declared December 25, 26, and January 1 as public holidays to mark the Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year celebrations.

 

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who emphasized the significance of the festive season, urging Nigerians to reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity that it represents.

 

He encouraged citizens to use this period to foster harmony and strengthen bonds across families and communities. Dr. Tunji-Ojo also called on Nigerians to remain committed to the peace, unity, and progress of the nation, which is essential for national development.

 

According to Dr. Tunji-Ojo, the Christmas season is an opportune time for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. He encouraged Nigerians to demonstrate kindness and extend goodwill to one another, regardless of their differences.

 

In his statement, Dr. Tunji-Ojo expressed his confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu’s Administration, which is expected to usher in a new year of prosperity and growth. He wished Nigerians a merry Christmas and a prosperous 2025, emphasizing the government’s dedication to creating a better future for all citizens.
