Federal Road Safety Corps Ogun State mourns the death of Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe

The Ogun State sector command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has announced the death of Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer and a Chief Route Commander.

 

Akinwunmi Fasakin, the State Sector Commander, confirmed the news to our correspondent via phone on Tuesday. He stated that Okpe had been ill for some time and was receiving medical treatment in Ogun before she was granted medical leave. She subsequently traveled to her hometown in Cross River State, where she passed away.

 

Fasakin described Okpe as an exceptional and dedicated officer, noting her professionalism, resourcefulness, and unwavering commitment to duty. He expressed deep sorrow over her loss, mentioning that she was highly valued and that her passing is a significant blow to the command.

 

He added, “We lost Okpe this morning. Her family has confirmed her death. She was very dear to us, and her absence will be deeply felt. The command extends its condolences to her family and loved ones, praying that God grants us all the strength to endure this irreplaceable loss.”

 

In an earlier statement, Fasakin conveyed, “The command received the sad news of CRC FN Okpe’s death from a family member. She died on October 28, 2025, in her hometown while still on her annual leave.”
