FG Approves Establishment of Court of Appeal in Abeokuta
The Federal Government has approved the establishment of a Court of Appeal in Abeokuta, Ogun State, marking a significant milestone in the state’s judicial development.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who announced the development via his official X handle, described it as a victory for the people of Ogun State and a crucial step in bringing justice closer to the grassroots.
According to him, the new division will ease the heavy caseload on the Ibadan Court of Appeal and ensure the quicker dispensation of justice, thereby strengthening the foundation of fairness and equity in the state.
Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the judiciary with resources, prioritizing the welfare of judicial officers, and providing adequate facilities to enhance their efficiency. He emphasized that justice remains the bedrock of any prosperous society, adding that Ogun State will continue to uphold judicial independence and entrench democratic values.
Commending the Chief Judge and other judicial officers for their dedication and reforms, the governor praised their role in sustaining Ogun State as a beacon of the legal profession.
“We will continue to build a system where the scales of justice remain balanced, the vulnerable are protected, and the rule of law thrives for the good of all,” he assured.
