Five Arrested Over Killing of Female Trader in Ogun Market as Police Vow to Deliver Justice
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of five individuals suspected to be involved in the tragic killing of Mrs. Blessing Eze, a female trader who was attacked at the Ifo Market.
This revelation was made by the Divisional Police Officer of the Ifo Division, SP Kamorudeen Olabisi, during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Tuesday at Winnas Hotel in Ifo. The meeting, which brought together community leaders, market stakeholders, and security personnel, was convened to address rising concerns over insecurity and criminal activities in the area.
SP Olabisi explained that the arrests followed swift investigative actions by the police in response to the outcry over Mrs. Eze’s death. He assured attendees that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation, with efforts underway to ensure a thorough investigation and prosecution.
He emphasized the commitment of the police to delivering justice for the victim and her family, and reiterated the importance of community cooperation in combating crime. SP Olabisi also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities to prevent a recurrence of such tragic incidents.
