The Ogun State Police Command successfully arrested Christopher Yaro, a suspected kidnapper allegedly involved in the abduction of two Reverend Fathers in Pankshin, Plateau State, for ransom. The priests, Father Kenneth Kanwa and Father Jude Nwachukwu, were kidnapped on February 1, 2024, with the abductors demanding a N25 million ransom.

Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, revealing that Yaro was apprehended in the Ago-Iwoye area of Ogun State on Monday. Yaro, a member of the church, reportedly fled Pankshin out of fear that community members would retaliate upon discovering his involvement in the priests’ abduction.

The police received intelligence leading to Yaro’s capture, emphasizing the collaborative efforts to ensure the safety and security of citizens. The investigation continues to unravel the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping incident.
