On June 26, 2023, the Federal Government of Nigeria through the EFCC charged former aviation minister, Senator Stella Oduah, with eight counts of document fabrication and conspiracy to commit a felony, among other crimes.

The charges were filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division, with Oduah as the only defendant. In the court document obtained by SaharaReporters on Sunday, the charges included conspiracy to commit a felony, making a document titled ‘Re: Request for Notional Youth Service Confirmation’ which was known to be false, and other offenses.

Senator Oduah represented Anambra North Senatorial District between 2015 and 2023. The charges against her have raised concerns among Nigerians about the level of corruption among public officials. Many Nigerians are calling for a thorough investigation into the matter and for the government to ensure that justice is served.

The case is expected to be closely monitored by the public and the media alike, as it is seen as a test of the government’s commitment to fighting corruption and ensuring accountability among public officials.
