Former Ogun Governor Otunba Gbenga Daniel Honours Late Aide Adefope at 61

Nininlola Adefope, a former Special Assistant on Governmental Affairs (Lagos Office) to the Ogun State Government, has passed away.

 

She was the sister of Mrs. Bola Atta, Managing Director of the UBA Foundation.

 

Born on September 14, 1962, in London, England, Lola was the daughter of Senator Obafemi Ayantuga and Ajoke Ayantuga, a chartered accountant.

 

With a public service career spanning more than 30 years, she held several key positions, including Secretary to the Local Government in Lagos State and later Senior Special Assistant in Ogun State.

 

In a heartfelt tribute, former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel, expressed deep sorrow over her passing, recalling her dedication during his administration (2003–2011).

 

“I received the news of the passing of Lola Adefope with great sadness and pain.

 

“As governor, she served as my Special Assistant on Governmental Affairs (Lagos Office), where she proved herself efficient and diligent.

 

“Her passing is a profound personal loss and a poignant reminder of life’s fleeting nature. She served the nation with unwavering dedication,” he said.

 

Lola was a devoted wife and mother. In 1992, she married Adebola Adefope, an architect, and their union was blessed with children.

 

According to the family, her interment will take place on June 23, 2025, at Michael and All Angels, Flower Lane, Mill Hill, London, at 1 p.m. This will be followed by a celebration of life at the Hendon Golf Club, London.
