FOUR ARRESTED IN OGUN STATE OVER ROBBERY ALLEGATION

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement released on Monday confirmed the arrest of three brothers and one other for allegedly carrying out series of robbery operations in the Ijebu-Ode area of the state.

The suspects, Hammed Jagbojagbo, Idris Jagbojagbo, Tobi Jagbojagbo and Tosin Ogundeko, were arrested following a distress call received at Igbeba divisional headquarters.

Oyeyemi said policemen were informed that armed robbers had invaded the shop of a premier lotto agent at the Odi-Olowo area of Ijebu-Ode and robbed the agent of N90,000.

Oyeyemi said, ā€œthe robbers also snatched a bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth.

Upon the distress call, the DPO Igbeba division, CSP Musiliu Doga, quickly led his patrol team to the scene, gave the robbers a hot chase and succeeded in arresting one of them by name Tosin Ogundeko from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered.

ā€œThe arrested Tosin Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State, where the remaining three were apprehended; while one of them, simply identified as Tosin, a.k.a. socket, escaped.ā€.

He added that the suspects confessed further that they are all based in Epe but chose Ijebu-Ode as their area of operation, one cut-to-size locally made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle were recovered from the suspects.
