Four motorists killed in fatal crash in Ogun State

A hit-and-run truck driver on Monday crushed a tricycle with registration number DED 425 WB at Oke Iganmu, along the Papa-Ilaro Road, killing all four occupants.
The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident in a statement issued the same day.
According to her, the remains of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the State Hospital in Ilaro.
She attributed the fatal crash to excessive speed and reckless driving by the truck driver, who fled the scene without stopping.
Okpe stated, “The crash involved two vehicles — a yellow tricycle with registration number DED 425 WB and an unidentified vehicle.”
“It was a hit-and-run case.
“A total of four passengers (two male adults and two female adults) were involved in the crash. All occupants of the tricycle were killed. The corpses were deposited at the State Hospital Morgue, Ilaro.
“The suspected causes of the crash were excessive speed and reckless driving.”
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Akinwumi Fasakin, extended his condolences to the families of the victims and called on all road users to prioritise safety at all times.
