Friends of Ronzls Foundation Hosts Second Radanuwa Idado Annual Youth Football Competition to Foster Unity and Talent Development

The vibrant community of Idado has once again come alive as the second edition of the Radanuwa of Idado Annual Youth Football Competition kicked off yesterday 8th May 2025, promising an exciting fortnight of football, camaraderie, and youth empowerment. The event, organized by Friends of Ronzls Foundation led by Chief Mrs. Ola Sulaimon, in honour of His Royal Highness Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanuwa of Idado, aims to harness the talents of the young generation and foster unity within the community.

 

The opening ceremony was graced by distinguished personalities, including the Eleposo of Eposo, Oba Olatunji; the Ebi of Idena, Lukmon Salami Sebu; Chairman of the Baale Council of Sagamu Local Government, Baale Obasanya; Lisa of Idado Chief kazerm Makanjuola,Oluwo of Idado Chief Adebayo Adefemi, Aro of Idado Chief Idowu Abiodun Safiu,Oloritun of Idado Chief Oluwaseyi Sode, Iyalode of Idado Chief Mrs Rukayat Alujo,Balogun of Of Idado Chief Balogun Ayuba, Jagunmolu of Idado Chief Yunusa Olujasa,, Chief Akinsola Akinola community laiason officer Idado and Comrade Adedoyin Sonuga president Idado Youth Association.The event commenced with a lively football match, with the Radanuwa himself setting the ball rolling, signaling the beginning of a week-long series of matches scheduled to run until May 21, 2025.

 

In an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile expressed his elation about the initiative’s impact. “I am genuinely happy that this competition is bringing our youths together, allowing them to showcase their talents and build camaraderie,” he said. “Since the first edition, we have received tremendous testimonies from parents, coaches, and the youths themselves about how this event has positively influenced their lives. It’s fulfilling to see our young ones united and motivated through sports.”

 

Chief Mrs. Ola Sulaimon, founder of the Friends of Ronzils Foundation and the IYA Ewe of Idado Kingdom, shared similar sentiments. “I am delighted with the results so far,” she stated. “Bringing our youths together to celebrate their talents not only encourages their physical and mental development but also fosters a sense of community and shared purpose. As the IYA Ewe, I see it as my responsibility to care for and nurture these young ones. Their participation and enthusiasm are truly inspiring. It’s remarkable to witness the unity this football competition has fostered among our youths.”

 

The foundation’s efforts have garnered widespread commendation from community leaders and youth organizations alike. The President of the Idado Youth Association expressed gratitude to the Radanuwa and the Friends of Ronzils Foundation for pioneering this initiative. “This competition has empowered our youths, giving them a platform to express themselves constructively,” he said. “It’s encouraging to see young talents being recognized and nurtured, which ultimately helps them build a better future for themselves and the community.”

 

The event’s organizers emphasized the importance of sports as a tool for social cohesion and youth development. They also highlighted plans to incorporate workshops and training sessions alongside the matches to further enhance the skills and knowledge of participants.
