The Friends of Ronzls Foundation has commenced her annual quiz and spelling bee competition, with the first leg held at St. Columcilles Catholic Nursery and Primary School, OFFIN, Sagamu, on Monday, May 13th, 2024.
The event, which is divided into four zones — Offin, Makun, Sabo and Gbara – aims to identify and reward outstanding students in the region. Twelve schools participated in the Offin zone category, with students undergoing rigorous quizzing and spelling exercises.
According to the founder of the foundation, Mrs. Ola Sulaimon, “We are committed to providing a platform for students to showcase their academic prowess and develop their critical thinking skills. We believe that every child deserves an opportunity to shine, and we are proud to provide that platform.” She encouraged all participants to do their best and make themselves and their schools proud.
After an intense session anchored by Mr. Tunde, three winners emerged to represent Offin zone at the grand finale scheduled for July. Sofile Mistura of St. Paul II Ijokun took first place, while Osho Demilade of St. Paul Offin Alagbo and Adekomoya Bamidele of St. Columcilles came second and third, respectively. The remaining zones, Makun, Sabo and Gbara will hold their sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively, to select their representatives for the grand finale.
The grand finale, scheduled for July, promises to be an exciting event, with representatives from all four zones competing for the top prize. The Friends of Ronzls Foundation has pledged to continue supporting educational initiatives in the region, and this competition is a testament to their commitment to empowering young minds.
