The Forum extended profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed TINUBU, GCFR, for finding Sir Kesington ADEBUTU worthy of this exalted recognition, and more importantly, for bestowing the honour “while the revered elder statesman is still alive to witness the nation’s gratitude.”
“We are deeply grateful to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed TINUBU, GCFR, for bestowing this rare and distinguished second highest national honour upon our revered Balogun and Baba Oba of Iperu Akesanland, and Odole Oodua of the Source, Sir Kesington ADEBUTU. According to the Forum, the GCON award stands as an attestation to Sir ADEBUTU’s uncommon grace, humanitarian spirit, and lifelong dedication to the upliftment of others, qualities that have continued to define his journey and inspire generations within and beyond Iperu-Akesanland.
The honour comes just on the day, the distinguished nonagenarian marked his 90th birthday on Friday, 24th October 2025 in a landmark celebration that attracted goodwill messages from family, friends, associates, leaders, traditional rulers, and admirers across the country.
The Forum recalled that it had earlier felicitated Sir ADEBUTU on his 90th birthday, in a message issued on 23rd October 2025, titled:
