Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced a series of development initiatives to honor the legacy of the late Alaperu of Iperu, Oba Adeleke Idowu-Basibo, recognizing his contributions to the town’s progress.

In a statement shared on his official X account, Governor Abiodun revealed plans to support a Diaspora Housing project, implement a town mapping initiative, and address erosion challenges through a drainage project. These efforts, he said, are aimed at preserving the late monarch’s impact and fostering further development in Iperu-Remo.

Oba Idowu-Basibo, who passed away recently, was a visionary leader who left his career in the Nigeria Customs Service to serve his people. His reign was marked by significant transformations, including the establishment of the Gateway International Cargo Airport and the Nigeria Customs Service Operational Unit in Iperu.

Governor Abiodun commended the Alaperu-in-Council for maintaining peace and unity in the town and extended condolences to the royal family and the entire Iperu community. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the monarch’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.

The late Alaperu’s contributions to Iperu-Remo remain a lasting testament to his dedication, and the proposed projects are expected to further his vision for the town’s progress.
