Governors Hold Emergency Meeting, Discusses Labour Unrealistic Demand

Governors across all states in Nigeria have fixed an emergency meeting for today, Wednesday, to address the Labour Congress demands.

Retrospectively, the Federal Government once proposed a minimum wage of #62,000, a long stretch from the #250,000 demanded by the Labour Group. Meanwhile, state governors have shown and proven incapable of meeting both demands, stating that some states would have to borrow money if the amount is implemented.

However, Labour stays true to its demands. Hence, state governors as disclosed by Acting Director on Media and Public Affairs of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) would meet in Abuja by 7:00 pm today, Wednesday, on the matter.
