Gunmen Abduct 66-Year-Old Nurse in Ilisan Remo, Ogun State

 

 

A 66-year-old woman, Elizabeth Uruakpa, was abducted by gunmen in the Ilisan Remo area of Ogun State on Thursday evening.

 

Uruakpa, an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Babcock University Teaching Hospital, was returning from a church service when the incident occurred.

 

Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen, driving an unregistered red Toyota Camry, blocked Uruakpa’s Honda CRV and forcibly took her away. A resident in the area described the scene as “strange and scary,” stating that such an incident had never happened before in the neighborhood.

 

Dr. Joshua Suleiman, Director of Communication and Marketing at Babcock University, confirmed the incident, saying, “I heard about it last night, and we are working on getting more information. We will provide updates as soon as possible.”

 

Omolola Odutola, Police Spokesperson in Ogun State, acknowledged the incident, stating that the Command received a distress call and is currently investigating. “A distress call was received from Ilishan near the new market at about 1710hrs, reporting the abduction of Elizabeth Uruakpa by young armed men. Updates will follow.”
