High Chief Dr. Ojekunle Yekini Eleyele Ascends to Oluwo Osugbo Offin Akarigbo in a Majestic Ceremony

In a stately ceremony held on the 19th of March 2024, High Chief Dr. Ojekunle Yekini Eleyele, affectionately known as Arole Ola, ascended to the revered position of Oluwo Osugbo (Offin Akarigbo).
Surrounded by dignitaries and well-wishers at the Akarigbo Palace, he was adorned with symbols of authority by Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, Torungbuwa II, LLB, LLM, FCA, FBR, CFR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland , symbolizing his role as custodian of tradition and unity.
The Iwuye Ceremony, steeped in tradition, showcased the community’s rich cultural heritage with music, dance, and ceremonial rituals. The main event, marked by blessings from the Paramount Ruler of Remo, underscored the deep respect for High Chief Dr. Ojekunle Yekini Eleyele’s ascension.
Expressing gratitude, High Chief Dr. Ojekunle Yekini Eleyele pledged to serve with humility and dedication, carrying forward the legacy of his predecessors.
The ongoing coronation festivities include traditional dances (Gbedu), social gatherings, and an Egungun Dance, scheduled for the 21st, 25th, 30th, and 31st of March 2024, respectively. These events, starting at 3:00pm for the Gbedu dances and 10:00am for the social gathering, will continue to honor and celebrate High Chief Dr. Ojekunle Yekini Eleyele’s esteemed leadership.
