House of Reps to investigate ‘technical error’ in JAMB’s 2025 UTME results

The House of Representatives has resolved to launch a thorough investigation into the technical error that allegedly compromised the integrity of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.

This decision was reached during Thursday’s plenary session after lawmakers unanimously adopted a motion of urgent public importance raised by Adewale Adebayo, a representative from Osun State.

Adebayo, while presenting the motion, expressed concern over reports of widespread irregularities and system glitches that may have negatively impacted the performance and results of many candidates. He stressed the need for immediate legislative intervention to safeguard the credibility of the examination process and ensure that affected students are not unjustly penalized.

The resolution mandates the relevant House committees to interface with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and other stakeholders to uncover the root cause of the error and recommend corrective measures.
