I HAVE FULFILLED PROMISES MADE TO AREPO COMMUNITY: ABIODUN
The Arepo-Journalist Estate Road, Arepo, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun state was opneed by the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun as he stated that the project was a fulfilment of his administration’s promise to the community.
The 2.5km double lane road has culverts and drainages on both sides, dividers, street lights and traffic signs.
The road connects 41 neighbourhoods in the community and leads directly to the Lagos-Ibadan expressways
He said, “Today is another remarkable day in the history of the government and people of this great state.
“This is not just another commissioning but another commitment to the realisation of another projection meant to comfortably transform the lives of our people through our very focused policies and programmes.
“Many of you will recall that during my electioneering campaign in 2018/2019, I promised that I will reconstruct this road. This road had become a nightmare and was causing untold hardship to the people residing in this community, but I return today to celebrate and to fulfill that promise we made to you in 2018.”
In his goodwill message, the Olu of Arepo, Oba Atanda Oyebi, appreciated the governor for the road just as he recalled the horrors residents faced before its construction began.
The monarch assured the governor of the community’s vote to enable his re-election come 2023, as a way of appreciating the good work he had done.
