Idado Community, Sagamu Celebrates Majestic Conclusion of 8-Day Lidero Festival

The 8-day Lidero Festival and celebration in Idado, Sagamu, Ogun State, came to a majestic end with the grand finale held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the popular Cinema Road Junction, by Hospital Road, Sagamu, Ogun State.
Kings, royalties, and celebrities came together to celebrate with the Radanuwa of Idado, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, and the people of Idado community.
The activity for the grand finale started in the early hours of Saturday with general sanitation and was followed with celebratory activities, among which were cultural presentations, Ewi recitations, eulogies, and award presentations.
Those who came to grace the occasion were: His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, Torungbuwa II, LLB, LLM, FCA, FBR, CFR, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland; Kabiyesi Elepe of Epe; Kabiyesi Alaperu of Iperu; Kabiyesi Odofin of Sonyindo; Kabiyesi Alagura of Agura; Kabiyesi Eleposo of Eposo; Kabiyesi Onilaye of Ilaye.
Others include; Kabiyesi Alariye of Ariye; Kabiyesi Oniraye of Iraye; Oloris Obas across Remoland; Idado high chiefs; Omooba Dare Muhammad Bello; Abu Abel; Yeye Obas; Akarigbo Chief of Staff; Bamofin of Remoland; market women; artisans; sons and daughters of Idado, home and abroad; prominent people within Remoland and Ogun State.
Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, in his address, appreciated all those who made the maiden edition of the Lidero Festival and celebration a success. “I’m excited and elated. Nobody would believe this is the maiden edition of this celebration, because it came close to being perfect. This is not by my ability alone but with the help of God and everyone who supported me,” he said.
Recognizing the efforts of individuals, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile presented award plaques of recognition to some people. They were: Outstanding Chief of the Year: High Chief Makanjuola (Lisa Idado); Best Supporting Chief of the Year (male): High Chief Adeyinka Adebayo (Oluwo); Best Supporting Chief of the Year (female): Chief Mrs. Owolabi Alayo (Yeye Oba); Mrs. Oladapo Sulaimon: Outstanding Leadership of the Year (Yeye Ewe); Youth Motivator of the Year: Ademola Ismail Olamilekan; Hon. Muyideen Alayo: Most Outstanding Youth of the Year; Youth Achievements Award of the Year: Comrade Akinola Akinsola; and Utility Community Person of the Year: Babatunde Oladotun.
The grand finale celebration was rounded off with overnight partying, with different artists coming to entertain the king, his chiefs, and everyone in attendance. The entertainment was wrapped up with an epic performance from the guest artist, Sulaimon Adio Oladele Oyeneye, popularly known as “Atawewe”.
