Idado Monarch Elevated to First-Class Status, Expresses Gratitude and Renewed Commitment
The atmosphere in Idado community, Ogun State, was filled with jubilation as the traditional ruler of the town was officially elevated to the highly revered status of a first-class monarch. The traditional ruler of Idado kingdom,His Royal Majesty Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile,in his response to the development, described the elevation as an esteemed recognition and a divine promotion, expressing that it is one of the most fulfilling moments of his reign and one of the best feelings he has experienced in recent times. He said he is humbled, grateful, and elated by the honour, attributing it completely to the grace and will of God.
The monarch noted that the journey to attaining the first-class status was not something achieved by personal effort or political influence but was guided solely by divine orchestration. According to him, it was not about what he did or did not do, but rather the favour and mercy of God. He appreciated God first and foremost, then extended his gratitude to the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, for granting the elevation, and to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remo land, for his unflinching support and fatherly role throughout his journey.
Despite the elevation, the king reassured his people that he would remain who he has always been — a humble servant of his community. He expressed his deep love for the people of Idado, reaffirming that the new status would not change his character or distance him from those he was called to serve. Instead, he stated that it further motivates him to do more, serve better, and keep the interests of his people at the centre of his leadership.
He explained that while the position of a first-class king comes with certain increased benefits, for him, the real essence of the promotion lies in responsibility, service, and a renewed sense of duty. The honour, according to him, is not for pride or comfort but a call to greater commitment, humility, and excellence.
The monarch also used the opportunity to speak to the youth, encouraging them to embrace hard work, diligence, and a clear sense of purpose. He advised them to commit themselves fully to education, skill acquisition, and apprenticeship, warning them to shun all forms of social vices including fraud, drug abuse, and laziness. As a youth himself, he identified with the younger generation and declared himself a practical example of what dedication, faith, and perseverance can produce.
He also took time to reflect on his leadership journey so far, highlighting some of his contributions to the growth and repositioning of the Idado community. He said he has worked hard to elevate the traditional institution he met and to add quality and honour to the kingdom, and he remains committed to doing even more now that the community has been placed on a higher pedestal.
Once again, he expressed profound gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun, stating that the Governor has been exceptionally good to the community and to him personally. He said he remains grateful and indebted for the honour and privilege of being elevated, and he prays that God will continue to bless and strengthen the governor. He also appreciated the Remo Traditional Council and His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, for their unwavering support. He concluded by assuring that he and the entire Idado community will continue to support the good work of the government in every possible way and will always stand behind every policy and project aimed at improving the lives of the people of Ogun State.
