Iperu Remo Hosts Grand Homecoming Reception for First Female Accountant General of the Federation, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Madein
Iperu Remo Ogun State, on Friday May 2nd, 2025 was the setting for a grand homecoming reception in honor of Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, the First Female Accountant General of the Federation. The event, held following her retirement on March 7th, 2025, after over three decades of meritorious service in the Federal Civil Service, recognized her significant contributions to the nation and her hometown.
Organized under the auspices of the Iperu Akesan Development Association, the reception aimed to celebrate Dr. Madein, a patriotic indigene, for her distinguished tenure as Accountant General of the Federation, a position she held since her appointment on May 18th, 2023.
The celebration commenced with a symposium on Thursday, May 1st, at the Iperu Akesan 1954 Club, which witnessed widespread participation from the community.
Demonstrating her commitment to community development, Dr. Madein announced initiatives including scholarships covering WAEC and NECO examination fees for over 200 students for the 2025 certificate examinations and empowerment programs benefiting over a thousand individuals, including youths, market women, artisans, and entrepreneurs.
The reception was attended by a distinguished array of dignitaries, including H.E. Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, Executive Governor of Ogun State; Senator Ali Modu Sherrif, former Governor of Borno State; H.E. Engr. Mrs. Noimot Salako Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Ogun State; H.E. Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Senator representing Ogun East; members of the National Assembly; traditional rulers from Iperu; and numerous other prominent figures from across Nigeria.
The Iperu Akesan Development Association, led by Otunba Taiwo Oyebanjo, had established a committee chaired by Mr. Lanre Shittu, with Mr. Armstrong Temitope Akintunde as Vice Chairman, to organize this befitting event. The committee comprised notable sons and daughters of Iperu Akesanland, working diligently to ensure the success of the grand reception.
Born in Iperu Remo on March 7th, 1965, Dr. Madein’s homecoming signifies a moment of pride and appreciation for her exemplary service and her dedication to the progress of her community.
