KEMULE-ADE ELEDIRO DAY CELEBRATIONS: DESCENDANTS COME TOGETHER TO HONOR THEIR MATRIARCH
Saturday, January 11th, 2025, will be etched in the memories of the descendants of Kemule-Ade Elediro for a long time to come. The Twins Event Center on Church Street, Off Hospital Road, Aiyegbami, Sagamu, played host to the first-ever Kemule Elediro Day celebration, a historic gathering of families from Okubamowo, Laani Solarin (Aboriota), Ojanaike (Iya Onigbalo), Efunkoya (Iya Eleni), Akarigbo William Christopher Adedoyin II, and Odenaike (Iya Oke-Okun).
The event was a grand celebration of the indomitable spirit and values of Kemule-Ade Elediro, a matriarch whose legacy has shaped the lives of her descendants across generations. The atmosphere was filled with pride, reflection, and connection as the families came together to honor their ancestors and cement their bonds.
The guest list read like a “Who’s Who” in the community, with notable attendees including The Matriarch and Oldest in Kemule Dynasty Mama Alhaja Tawakalitu Lawal-Solarin Aboriota, Otunba Tunji Lawal-Solarin and wife, Wife of Late Bashorun Oga Yinka Lawal-Solarin Bjorg Lawal-Solarin, Mama Dewunmi Adedoyin-Banjo, Otunba Oloore Adedoyin, Barrister A.O.G Seni Lawal-Solarin, Mrs Yetunde Odusanya-Joshua (Anthony Joshua’s mother), Barrister Seni Ogunlesi-Adio S.A.N and wife, Chief Mrs. Falilat Ogunkoya, Barrister Olukayode Solarin, Chief Kehinde Solarin, Mrs. Remi Dawodu, Dame Folasade Onaeko, Princess Adenike Adedoyin-Ajayi, Princess Yinka Adedoyin-Odeyemi, Prince Adetayo Adeleke-Adedoyin, Omooba Oluseyi Solanke and Omooba ‘Yinka Okunoren

The event featured a series of activities, including the launching of a T-shirt and Kemule book, as well as the nomination of a protem executive of the Kemule Elediro family. Chairperson of the Planning Committee, Dame Folasade Onaeko from the Aboriota lineage, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who attended, those who could not but supported the event, and to all Kemule Elediro descendants worldwide for their support, love and dedication to their Matriarch’s legacy.
The Kemule Elediro Day celebration is a testament to the strength and resilience of the families who have carried on the values and traditions of their matriarch. As they continue to grow and thrive, they will always remember the lessons learned from Kemule-Ade Elediro and the bonds that unite them.
