Lagos State Assures Ikorodu City FC All-Round Support in Their NPFL Debut
The Lagos State Government has pledged its unwavering support to Ikorodu City FC as they prepare to compete in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season. The announcement came from Mr. Lekan Fatodu, the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, during a reception held for the team.
Fatodu expressed the state’s commitment to ensuring Ikorodu City FC’s successful debut in the NPFL. He also conveyed his best wishes for the team’s performance in the 2024-25 season.
“Lagos State is proud of Ikorodu City FC’s remarkable achievement, and we are committed to providing all necessary support to ensure their success in the NPFL. We are dedicated to fostering a conducive environment for sports excellence in Lagos State. Ikorodu City FC’s promotion is a testament to the talent and hard work of our youth, and we are here to support them every step of the way,” added Fatodu.
Ikorodu City FC secured their place in the NPFL after finishing among the top four teams in the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoff held in Enugu. This marks their first appearance in Nigeria’s top-flight football league.
