Lagos State Police Command Declares Emergency on Cultism

The Lagos State Police Command has declared an emergency on cultism, saying that it is the greatest challenge of the Command. Spokesperson for the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who paraded the suspects, said a great number of the cultists were arrested in Ikorodu, Badagry, and Isolo. He added that three of the notorious gangs terrorizing Ikorodu and Isolo led by a cultist nicknamed ’70’ have been arrested.
Hundeyin expressed gratitude to the people of Ikorodu for their cooperation in taking out these cultists from their community. He also noted that the Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, charged the tactical teams to ensure that activities of cultists in the state were brought to the barest minimum, and this has been yielding results.
