LASU Celebrates 40th Anniversary, Awards N500,000 to Best-Graduating Student

Lagos State University, has promised to give a sum of N500,000 to its best-graduating student, Imoitesemeh Yusuf, who graduated with a CGPA of 5.00 (First Class Honours) from the Department of Law. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, made this known during the convocation press conference on Wednesday. The convocation will also witness the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the institution, which was founded in 1983.

 

The Vice-Chancellor revealed that the convocation lecture, titled, ‘The impact of digitisation on higher education in the digital age,’ would take place on June 20, 2023, and be delivered by the Executive Secretary, Trust Fund, Mr Sonny Echono. She also mentioned that eight eminent Nigerians would be awarded doctorate degrees.

 

The announcement of the prize money for the best-graduating student has been welcomed by many, who believe that it will encourage other students to strive for academic excellence.
