Let us Pray For Peaceful Transition of Power -Lawan
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has urged the muslim faithful in Nigeria in the month of Ramadan,to pray for a peaceful transition of power at the national and sub-national levels in the coming months.
In his goodwill message on Wednesday, Lawan said this Ramadan period provided an opportunity to also pray for the success of the incoming administrations both at the federal and state levels as they would assume the onerous tasks of continuing the building of a virile and prosperous Nigeria.
He said, “Ramadan is a glorious opportunity for the Islamic faithful to thank Allah for His mercies on us as individuals and as a nation and to further seek His guidance and blessings.
“This period of Ramadan has met us in Nigeria at a critical period. I do not see it as a mere coincidence that it falls within our political transition period.
” Let’s use the opportunity to thank Almighty Allah for the successes that we have so far recorded in the conduct of the general elections and to pray for a peaceful transition of power at the national and sub-national levels in the coming months.” he added.
