Liverpool and Manchester United Compete for Ademola Lookman’s Signature
English Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly vying for the acquisition of Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman this summer.
Lookman, who has been a standout performer for Atalanta, is attracting significant interest after two impressive seasons with the Serie A club.
The Nigerian international has made a substantial impact at Atalanta, amassing 32 goals and 18 assists in 78 appearances. His remarkable form was highlighted by a hat-trick in Atalanta’s 3-0 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League final last season.
Speculation about Lookman’s potential return to the Premier League has been growing, especially after his successful spell at Leicester City. According to Caught Offside, both Liverpool and Manchester United are keen to secure his services during the current transfer window.
Liverpool, under the new guidance of coach Arne Slot, are looking to bolster their attacking options. On the other hand, Manchester United seek to enhance their wing play, and Lookman’s blend of experience and skill makes him an attractive target.
Lookman is currently valued at €40 million by Transfermarket, but Atalanta may demand up to €51 million for the deal to materialize.
