The Magboro market in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State saw a deluge of complaints over the weekend from traders who decried the state of the road that connects them to buyers from other communities.
The traders who spoke with newsmen lamented that the state of the road in the market had led to poor sales.
A meat seller in the market, Kamarudeen Ramon, said he made little sales as customers could not enter the market due to the state of the road.
“We are not making sales because of the condition of this road,” he lamented.
Another trader who simply identified herself as Mrs Gbolahanmi said, “The road from the market to the main road is very bad. Whenever trucks pass through the market’s road, we run for our lives because they appear as if they want to fall. The government should come to our aid.”
However, newsmen gathered that the chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Adesina Ogunsola, inspected the road on August 3, 2023.
When contacted, the local government’s Director of Information, Segun Soneye, said, “The government is making efforts to make sure that the roads are rehabilitated.”
