Members of RemoGDF urge all Remonians to be part of Akarigbo’s 60th birthday celebration and 5th year coronation anniversary, opens door to more investors
On Friday, 18th November 2022, the Akarigbo of Remo land, alongside members of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation, announced a press conference, held at the Akarigbo’s palace. This briefing was in regards to the upcoming 5th coronation anniversary and 60th birthday celebration of the Akarigbo, HRM Oba Adewale Babatunde Ajayi.
Aare Dr. Kola Oyefeso in his welcome address at the press conference gave a little dive into the Origin of Remo land. He said, “We are proud to inform this audience for the record that: Remo people have their root at Ile ife and the landscape that is known as Remo-Land today because of its vantage location is indeed the gateway between Lagos-the commercial nucleus of Nigeria and the rest of the country”.
“ As we thank God and celebrate these milestones, we are urging all Remonians home and abroad and our associates to come and be part of this epoch making celebration and particularly to rise to the occasion of being part of the success story of Remo-Land, with their God given wherewithal, as we subtly remind us that we all owe our maker a nonnegotiable responsibility of making our environment better than we met it” the Aare added.
Asiwaju S.K Onafowokan, a key member of the Remo Growth and Development Foundation also encouraged the young people of Remo land to work hard in order to build a future for themselves.
He said, “Before one can become an entrepreneur, you have to undergo training and gain experience, but many young people are not ready. You need to work hard, to become successful.”
Otunba Seni Adetu, another dignitary present, placed emphasis on the Akarigbo’s mission in the last 5 years to build unity among the different communities in Remo land. He said it was this mission that birthed the Remo Growth and Development Foundation.
Remo land, thanks to the Akarigbo over the space of five years has recorded a high rate of industrialization and positive business development. This has always been one of the foresights of the Akarigbo, to create a society where businesses thrive, companies get established, and people survive without depending solely on neither the government nor family members.
These achievements alone call for celebration, which is why the days scheduled for the event should be attended by all Remonians both home and away.
The dual event is scheduled to start on the 2nd of December until the grand finale on Sunday,11th of December. Some activities lined up for the event include; dedicated thanksgiving at the Our Saviour’s Church, Ikenne, commemorative Jumat service which is to be anchored by the biggest Imam In Remo land, athletic events, private birthday celebration at the palace, Carnivals, golf tournament, and the coronation anniversary as the grand finale with King Sunny Ade as the entertainer of the day.
A video documentary was made to showcase the industrialization of Remo land and attract more investors for the growth and development of the land.
RemoGDF stands as a great part and pioneer of this initiative, and they stand essentially to ensure the success of the big event, and primarily see to the development of Remo land as a whole.
