The newly appointed Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has made a strong commitment to addressing the issue of hunger among Nigerian youths. In his inaugural speech at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, Senator Kyari acknowledged the pressing challenge of hunger in the country and expressed his readiness to dedicate himself entirely to serving the nation.

He emphasized the importance of political will, citing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s declaration of a food emergency and his commitment to revitalizing agriculture and ensuring food security.

Senator Kyari highlighted the various challenges faced in the agricultural sector, including production limitations, insecurity, and flooding. However, he expressed optimism in the collective efforts of the ministry, state governors, and the President in tackling these issues.

The Minister’s focus on youth empowerment and food security aligns with President Tinubu’s vision for a renewed hope agenda, which emphasizes the importance of agriculture in driving economic growth and reducing hunger in Nigeria.

Moving forward, Senator Kyari plans to collaborate closely with the management and staff of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to develop and implement effective strategies. With the support of the President and a strong political will, there is hope for a brighter future where hunger among Nigerian youths is successfully addressed, and the nation’s food production and security are significantly improved.
