Motorcyclist and Passenger Die in Ogun Road Accident

Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash at Siun Junction along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway.

 

According to Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, the accident occurred on Monday evening when a truck lost control and collided with several other vehicles.

 

The crash claimed the lives of a motorcyclist and a female passenger.

 

The vehicles involved included a car with registration number KTU 152 JB, a Mazda bus with plate number LSR 345 YK, a motorcycle bearing KNN 515 VD, and a truck with number plate T5582 LA.

 

He said, ā€œA fatal multiple RTA happened at the Siun junction along the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway.

 

According to an eyewitness, the accident was caused by brake failure on the path of the truck, which led to a collision with other vehicles and the motorcycle.

 

ā€œA male motorcyclist and the female passenger he was carrying died in the accident.ā€

 

Tension escalated on Tuesday as angry youths took to the streets to protest the death of a bystander, Jide Oyeleke, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Ewusi Road in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

 

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Sunday when the driver of a Toyota Camry, reportedly speeding, lost control and struck Oyeleke.

 

The impact of the crash was said to have killed him instantly at the scene.
