Naira Redesign: Several Zenith Bank Branches Shutdown Across The Country
Zenith Bank branches in major locations across the country were closed to customers on Tuesday as the scarcity of the newly redesigned notes intensified. Many customers of the bank reported visiting the bank’s branches only to find the gates locked.
A source said, “We were not supposed to go to the bank today because a memo was sent yesterday that all branches should be shut. However, our HOP insisted we all come. On getting there, she became fearful as she had received information that other branches didn’t open. So, she ordered us all to go home.”
While the scarcity of the new Naira notes worsened cash transactions for many traders, poor network and other technical online issues persist in cities and states.
