Neo Black Movement of Africa, Remo Zone Holds 2nd Annual Lecture and Anniversary
The Neo Black Movement of Africa, Remo Zone, held its 2nd annual lecture and anniversary on Saturday, January 4th, 2025. The event, tagged “Drug Abuse in Our Society, The Causes, Effects, and Solutions,” was attended by dignitaries and members of the organization.
The anniversary started with the first session, which featured a lecture by SN Funmilayo Bamisaye from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). Bamisaye sensitized the attendees about the dangers of drug abuse and possible solutions to it. She emphasized the importance of education and awareness in preventing drug abuse and encouraged the audience to take an active role in promoting a drug-free society.
The guest speaker’s lecture was followed by the second session of the anniversary, where awards of excellence were presented to notable individuals. Hon. Oluwadamilare Bello and Ambassador Easy were among the recipients of the Most Outstanding Leadership Award. Other awardees included members of the organization and other individuals who had demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to the community.
In his address, the President of NBM, Remo Zone, Comrade Olusola Adedeji, reiterated the mission of the organization. “We are not a cult group, but an organization that gives back to the people and ensures massive contribution to the growth of the community,” he said. “Our goal is to promote the welfare and well-being of our members and the community at large.”
Comrade Adedeji also emphasized the importance of leadership and integrity. “As leaders, we must strive to be role models and inspire others to follow in our footsteps. We must also be accountable for our actions and ensure that we act with integrity and transparency in all that we do.”
He further stated, “We believe that by working together, we can create a better future for ourselves and for generations to come. We will continue to work tirelessly to promote the values of hard work, discipline, and self-reliance.”
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Hon. Oluwadamilare Bello, Barrister Hope Aliu (former Western Region President, NBM), Comrade Labi Allison (Chairman, Sagamu Peace Agenda Forum), Hon. Olapeju Ayodele (PJ), and Executive members of Sagamu Youth Association led by Comrade Olugbenga Lawal. Members from Sagamu Student Association, Members of SEC, and a representative from the Department of State Services (DSS) were also in attendance.
The event was a huge success, and the organization has pledged to continue its efforts in promoting the welfare and well-being of its members and the community at large.
