Nigeria Army Hands Over Seized 223kg of Cannabis Sativa to Ogun NDLEA
The Nigeria Army, 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta, on Tuesday, said that it has handed over 441 pawpaw sized substance suspected to be cannabis sativa weighing 223Kg to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, Ogun State Command.
The acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the Brigade, Lt Mohammed Goni, stated this in a statement sent to journalists on Tuesday.
Goni said the troops of the brigade had on Friday, March 29, 2024, intercepted a Mazda bus with number plate NRK 622 SB conveying the substance at Mologbede village in Odeda Local Government Area of the state.
He said the Commander of 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Aminu, commended the troops for their effort, urging them to remain vigilant in their various locations.
The statement partly read, “The Commandant, NDLEA Ogun State Command, Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili, in her remarks stated that she was highly excited over the synergy between the military and other security agencies in the state.
“She said General Aminu has truly been very supportive of NDLEA operations, which has led to significant successes achieved by the agency
“Odili said this was not the first time such a large quantity of Cannabis Sativa was intercepted by the military and handed over to the agency.
