The list reveals surprising shifts in the entertainment landscape, with gospel singer Gaise Baba emerging as a major winner, outperforming mainstream superstars Wizkid and Davido.
According to a statement from YouTube’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Addy Awofisayo, Gaise Baba’s viral hit “No Turning Back II,” featuring Lawrence Oyor, was the most streamed Nigerian music video on the platform in 2025. Released in mid-May, the song quickly gained massive popularity across Nigeria, amassing over 41 million views within six months. The video’s success highlights a growing appreciation for gospel and spiritual music among Nigerian audiences.
The top music videos of the year also include hits from Shallipopi, Davido, Olamide, Seyi Vibez, Asake, and Rema, with tracks like “Laho,” “With You,” and “Ninety Nine” dominating viewership charts. Notably, Wizkid’s “Kese (Dance)” and Davido’s “With You” featuring Omah Lay also gained significant attention but did not surpass Gaise Baba’s record.
On the content creation side, actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli’s platform, Omoni Oboli TV, was recognized as Nigeria’s top YouTube creator for 2025. Other popular creators include Ibrahim Yekini of Itelediconstudio, Uchenna Mbunabo, and Ruth Kadiri, among others. These creators have continued to shape Nigeria’s digital entertainment scene, engaging millions of viewers with diverse content.
