NNPP’s Bichi Campaign Director-General Resigns, Highlights Political Marginalization.
A prominent member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State, Hon. Jamilu Kabir Bichi, has resigned from the party, citing persistent neglect and lack of recognition. Kabir, who served as the NNPP Director-General of the 2023 campaign in Bichi, announced his departure in a resignation letter dated November 19, 2025, addressed to the party’s ward chairman.
In his letter, Kabir described his decision as “painful yet necessary,” emphasizing that he and his supporters had faced continual sidelining, especially within his home community. He accused party leadership at all levels of refusing to acknowledge the sacrifices and efforts made by loyal members, which he found deeply discouraging.
He expressed disappointment that many committed members who worked tirelessly to build the NNPP were denied opportunities to serve in the party or in government after the party’s electoral victories. “This situation made it impossible for me to remain in the party in good conscience,” he stated. Kabir also criticized the leadership for failing to recognize the party’s progressive agenda, loyalty, patience, and endurance.
Despite his resignation, Kabir extended gratitude to his political mentor, former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Hon. Ahmad Garba Bichi, praising him for his patience, loyalty, and straightforwardness. He assured that he would continue to practice politics “without bitterness” and remain committed to serving the people.
In his closing remarks, Kabir prayed for divine guidance for the people of Bichi, Kano, and Nigeria as a whole, reaffirming his dedication to serving humanity despite his departure from the NNPP. His resignation marks a significant development in Kano’s political landscape, highlighting internal frustrations within the party.
