Obaruwa Festival: Culture, Art, Glamour, Tradition, At 25th Obaruwa Festival Grand Finale

The 25th edition of the yearly Obaruwa festival of art and culture came to a significant end today, Saturday 11th 2023, as dignitaries, royalties, kings, sons, and daughters of Makun were seen glamorously dressed to make the grand finale a memory not to forget in a quick while.

The activity of the day started with the Ewusi Of Makun Land, Alayeluwa Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya (Orugba II) Leading indigent of Makun To Obaruwa Groove, which was immediately followed with a walk down to the popular Awolowo Market To Give Royal Blessings to traders.

The event continued with Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya Paying a Condolence visit to Makun heroes tomb, at Ajaka health center, Makun Sagamu.

After the traditional visitation and rites that should be performed, the celebration started at about 2pm on the big playfield of Makun high school, Sagamu. The chairman of the day, Aare Adetola Emmanuel king, CEO Adron homes, was ably represented by Barrister Oluwakemi Osude.

Some personalities present at the big event were; Hon. adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (Ijaya), Former governor of Ogun state Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Hon. Olapeju Abiodun, Alado of Ado,Atawa of Latawa, Kings, political elites, sons, and daughters of the soil.

 

In the act of donation, the former governor of Ogun state who’s also known as the Otunba Otunba Asoludero of Makun Kingdom, Otunba Gbenga Daniel donated 2.5million Naira for the construction of Obaruwa cultural center.

 

As part of the agenda of the day, all winners from the competition hosted during the week-long festival were also rewarded, which includes the public presentation of the new Miss and Mr. Obaruwa.

 

Cultural dance from different groups, award presentations and gifts to the king for several organization and groups was the concluding activity of the day.
