Odulate Inaugurates Sagamu Land Advisory Committee, Vows to Safeguard Government Properties
The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, on Wednesday officially inaugurated the Sagamu Local Government Land Advisory Committee.
Speaking during the inauguration, Odulate described the formation of the committee as a crucial stride in the council’s ongoing mission to instill order, protect public assets, and resolve lingering land disputes across Sagamu communities.
The committee, chaired by Bashorun Adebayo Awosanya, comprises individuals carefully selected for their deep understanding of Sagamu’s terrain and their commitment to public service. Odulate noted that the appointments were made based on merit, integrity, and local insight — not merely by name or title.
“Their assignment will not be an easy one, but it is absolutely necessary,” Odulate declared, charging the committee to uphold honesty, integrity, and loyalty as they carry out their mandate.
The committee’s responsibilities include identifying all government-owned lands, resolving disputes, and reclaiming lands from unauthorized occupants. The chairman emphasized that the mission goes beyond serving government interests, it is about safeguarding the collective heritage of every Sagamu resident.
