OGITECH Declares One-Week Break for Students

The management of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH) has taken decisive action to ensure the safety and security of its students due to the recent commotion in the Igbesa community involving non-student cult groups.

However, the institute’s Acting Registrar, Olajumoke Johnson, announced a one-week break starting today, Wednesday, 20th March 2024.

The management had earlier tried to resolve the situation but the crisis continued which led to a necessary temporary closure of academic activities. They decided to declare a break since all efforts were to no avail.

During the one-week break, all students are instructed to vacate their respective hostels and return home to their parents. Normal academic activities are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, 26th March 2024. The management emphasizes that the safety and security of students and staff members are of vital importance and assures that every measure will be taken to ensure their protection.

Furthermore, the management has enlisted the support of relevant security agencies to address the unrest and restore normalcy to the Igbesa community. While efforts are underway to mitigate the situation, students are urged to comply with the directive for their safety.
