OGSG PROMISES LG WORKERS TO ADDRESS LEAVE BOUNCES AND RECRUITMENT

The governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun made a promise during an interaction with members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government employees (NULGE) in Abeokuta, he assured local government employees across the state of speedy consideration of their request for the recruitment of new staff into the local government system to address the lacuna in place for many years following the retirement of some local government staff, he also thanked them for their steadfast.

Governor Abiodun, who also noted his administration’s strides in making the state Nigeria’s top investment destination, assured the workers that he would look into the issue of consolidation and parity advocated for by some heads of local government agencies who want parity between them and permanent secretaries in state ministries.

In the same vein, the governor promised to address the issue of leave bonuses, beginning from January 2023, and increase in the allocations meant for the payment of pensions to local government workers. The governor also promised to donate a bus to the union as to facilitate its day-to-day activities and also their request in completing its state secretariat located in Abeokuta.
