Ogun Governor Abiodun Mourns INEC Rec’s Sudden Passing
Governor Dapo Abiodun has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of late Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Barrister Olaniyi Ijalaye, who passed away on Monday evening in Abuja.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, Governor Abiodun described Ijalaye’s death as a “rude shock,” praising the late REC as an exemplary public servant known for his honesty, commitment, and cerebral approach.
The Governor extolled Ijalaye’s virtues, highlighting his humility, patriotism, and uncompromising nature. He prayed for the repose of his soul and offered condolences to his immediate family, friends, and colleagues, urging them to find strength in the face of this irreparable loss.
“I sympathize with the Ijalaye family, the people, and government of Ondo State on the passing of their illustrious son,” Governor Abiodun said. “Barrister Ijalaye was a shining example of diligence, commitment, and honesty in public service.
