Ogun Monarch Reaffirms Commitment to Community Development at 2025 Odun Omo Olowu Festival

The Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola of Abeokuta, has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering development within the community through strategic investments in education, youth empowerment, and social inclusion. His goal is to uplift various segments of the Owu community and promote overall growth.

 

Speaking at a press conference on Monday to officially launch the 2025 Odun Omo Olowu Festival, Oba Matemilola emphasized that education remains the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. He described the week-long festival as a period of reflection, unity, and renewal for the Kingdom.

 

Prof. Al-Moruf Adelekan, Chairman of the planning committee for the 2025 Odun Omo Olowu Festival, announced that the event will feature a community tour of Owu townships both within and outside Abeokuta. This tour aims to strengthen community bonds and reaffirm the cultural identity of the people.

 

The committee also outlined several activities, including corporate branding exhibitions, art displays, conferment of chieftaincy titles on notable personalities, and the Ajibosin Platform Symposium, all designed to celebrate and promote Owu culture and unity.
