Ogun State farmers partner with extension workers to overcome yam farming challenges

Farmers and agricultural extension workers in Ogun State have teamed up to combat the challenges of yam cultivation, including climate change. During a training programme organised by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, participants were encouraged to make use of the technical assistance and knowledge gained to promote wholesome farm practices.

The state government has also pledged to create a conducive environment for profitable farming. The partnership aims to upgrade the quality of planting materials and review planting and harvesting periods to overcome the limitations posed by climate change.
