Ogun State Government Trains Accountants to Boost Revenue Generation

The Ogun State Government has embarked on a training program to equip accounting officers and heads of revenue-generating agencies in ministries, departments, and agencies with the necessary skills to boost economic development and revenue generation. The training program was jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance and Budget and Planning in preparation for the Medium-Term Revenue Strategy in Abeokuta.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Planning, Mr Olaolu Olabimtan, highlighted the need for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to actively formulate policies and strategies for improving revenue-generating capacity. He explained that the government’s proactive approach and collaboration with the MDAs would pave the way for a prosperous and sustainable future for the state and its residents.
The approach would ensure that revenue targets were met, budget performance improved, and sustainable development goals achieved.
