Ogun state governor disburses N200 million for CDCs and CDAs

Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun state governor during the 2022 World Community Day and World Trade day in Abeokuta has disbured N200 million as grant-in-aid funds for over 600 Community Development Committees (CDCs) and Community Development Association (CDAs) for self help development projects across 20 local government council as he noted that the initial money under the former administration was N100,000.

 

The Governor, while addressing different CDAs, CDCs, trade organisations and artisan groups at the MKO Abiola Stadium, also announced his administration had approved N500 million to cater for Micro Small and Medium Scale Enterprise in the State as the scheme will be launched before the end of the year, while some benefitting associations received N500,000 each, while the highest beneficiaries got N5 million each.

 

He stressed the gesture was to fast track the public/private sector partnership, which he said had been affirmed to be working and the funds are meant for community projects as the contribution are tomsupport the efforts of the community and applaud their initiatives towards ensuring that communities get the desired mini infrastructures and in the long run, communities will remain habitable, safe and secured.

Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives, Hon Abayomi Hunye, lauded Abiodun for according community associations a place in his administration’s developmental agenda, noting the socio-economic development of any State lies in the hands of the community and that the State Government would monitor all the communities to ensure that the funds are judiciously spent for the purposes they were meant.
