Responding to the current economic situation, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has unveiled an initiative to provide essential food items to the citizens.

The program, which includes rice, garri, and beans, aims to ensure fair distribution while supporting the most vulnerable members of society. With nearly 100 trailers of rice scheduled for delivery, the offloading process is set to begin tomorrow.

To prioritize the needs of the elderly and vulnerable, the government has decided to provide the rice free of charge to this segment of the population. Others will have the opportunity to purchase the essential food items at the original price, before the recent increase in the value of the dollar.

“In light of the current situation, we have made the decision to provide our citizens with essential food items such as rice, garri, and beans. I have arranged for nearly 100 trailers of rice to be delivered, with offloading beginning tomorrow.

” To ensure fair distribution, we have decided that the elderly and vulnerable will receive the rice free of charge, while others will be able to purchase it at the original price before the increase in the value of the dollar. This will allow us to sustain the initiative until the dollar issue is resolved.

” It is important to remember that the challenges we are facing are temporary and will pass. I am confident that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leading us effectively, and his actions will soon bring about positive change.” Dapo Abiodun said.
