Ogun State Governor Mourns the Loss of Renowned Business Icon, ‘Cash Madam’
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed his deepest sorrow over the passing of renowned business mogul and socialite, Chief (Mrs) Adebisi Edionseri, popularly known as ‘Cash Madam.’ The 89-year-old trailblazer passed away on Sunday, leaving behind a legacy that will be deeply felt in Ogun State and Nigeria.
Through his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, Governor Abiodun stated, “On behalf of myself and the people of Ogun State, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of Alhaja (Chief) Adebisi Edionseri.
Her passing is a tremendous loss, but her influence as a business pioneer and social figure will continue to resonate for years to come.” The Governor described ‘Cash Madam’ as a beacon of resilience, ambition, and success, whose immense contributions to Ogun State will be remembered for generations to come.
Governor Abiodun, via his special adviser, also praised ‘Cash Madam’s’ pioneering spirit, noting that “Alhaja Adebisi’s legacy transcends her lifetime. Her contributions to the business landscape and her vibrant social engagements will serve as enduring reference points.”
He acknowledged the inspiration she provided to aspiring entrepreneurs and social leaders across the region, saying that “she touched countless lives and left an imprint that will guide future generations.”
The Edionseri family also paid tribute to the late ‘Cash Madam,’ describing her life as “a radiant example of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith.” According to Dr Adebayo Adebowale, her life was a testament to the values of love, resilience, and faith in Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will endure.
The funeral will be held according to Islamic rites on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 4pm at her residence in Abeokuta GRA.
